For your safety, SDMG will be screening patients at the entry doors:

Masks or face coverings must be worn at all times

Please remove hats, hoods and hoodies from head when entering – for temperature purposes

Please social distance by 6 ft when possible

Wash hands often

Call ahead or use telehealth when exhibiting signs of fever, cough or difficulty breathing

Temperatures will be taken at entrances with a thermal camera and/or thermometer

Call ahead or use telemedicine if you have:

A fever

Shortness of breath

A cough

Have traveled within the last 14 days

Come into contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19

Due to the Coronavirus and for your protection and those around you we ask that:

If you have a fever or lower respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath, cough)

or have traveled within 14 days

or have come in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19

Please call prior to coming to our facility, this also includes anyone who wishes to visit Urgent Care.

How are we helping to keep our patients safe?

  • Screening everyone who walks through our doors, patients and employees. Screening includes questions about COVID-19 related symptoms and temperature monitoring by thermal temperature cameras and/or thermometer.
  • All employees are required to wear a face mask and other appropriate PPE. All patients and their companions are required to wear a face mask or appropriate face covering.
  • All employees are required to maintain safe practices such as frequent hand washing and staying home when sick.
  • Adhering to social distancing guidelines throughout our building by rearranging the waiting rooms and placing distancing markers at registration.
  • Protective barriers installed at registration check-in areas.
  • Promoting Telehealth, also known as video visits, whenever possible as an alternative to in-person visits.
  • Enhanced protocol for cleaning and disinfecting our facility with ongoing review of CDC recommendations.
  • Continuing to make available COVID-19 testing to our employees.
  • Requiring symptomatic and/or COVID-19 positive employees to stay at home to quarantine following CDC guidelines.

Hours of Operation & Visitor Policy

Slocum-Dickson Medical Group offices will be open until 5:00pm with some variation depending on the specific office.  Hours for Urgent Care, Laboratory, and Radiology Services will be Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 8:00pm and Weekends from 9:00am to 6:00pm.  Slocum-Dickson’s Rehabilitation Department hours of operation are 7:30am to 5:00pm on weekdays.  The Ilion office is located at 55 Central Plaza in Ilion and will be open Monday through Friday with patient care hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm and laboratory services from 7:30am to 4:00pm. The laboratory at Slocum-Dickson’s Ilion location welcomes orders for lab work from outside providers. Turnaround time for routine tests are 24 hours.

The Group will continue to follow rigorous safety measures for employees and patients. All employees, patients and companions will be screened at each entrance, we will continue to require everyone within the building to wear a facemask or covering, and we will promote social distancing within the waiting and reception areas.  Patients will be instructed to maintain a distance of 6 feet from others whenever possible and adhere to signage indicating appropriate social distancing. Patients are asked to refrain from bringing friends and family members to their appointment and limit companions to one, if necessary.  Slocum-Dickson continues to offer Telehealth services to our patients and encourages patients to use this service for appointments that do not require an in-person visit.

As always, Slocum-Dickson remains dedicated to our patients and continues to provide quality patient care in the safest way possible during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Urgent Care Hours

Slocum-Dickson Medical Group’s Urgent Care, Laboratory, and Radiology Services will be open Monday through Friday 7:30am to 8:00pm and weekends 9:00am to 6:00pm.

For added convenience and safety, patients will be able to check in for Urgent Care online (to check in online click here).  Urgent Care patients who check in online will be able to select from a list of available appointment times and wait in the comfort of their own home.  Patients will receive a text confirming their appointment time, as well as, a reminder just prior to their reserved time.  Slocum-Dickson’s Urgent Care provides prompt, personalized medical care for individuals over 2 years old for minor (non life-threatening) health problems such as sprains, broken bones, cuts, backaches, job-related injuries, and common illnesses.  At Slocum-Dickson’s Urgent Care a Board Certified physician is always onsite.

Slocum-Dickson Laboratory will also offer this same convenient service (to check in online click here).  Patients with lab orders will be able to schedule a time for their lab work using the online check in system by visiting and clicking on the “Laboratory online check-in” button.  The Slocum-Dickson Medical Group Laboratory provides a full range of pathology clinical services and a broad range of specialized tests to support the needs of primary care providers and specialists. The laboratory accepts orders from medical providers outside of Slocum-Dickson Medical Group.

A message the Pediatrics Department:

The Pediatrics Department will have office hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.  Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic, Slocum-Dickson Medical Group will continue to take extra precautions to prevent the spread of this virus. In the Pediatrics Department, this includes adjusting the way we schedule patients. We will schedule sick visits and well visits at different times. All well visits will be scheduled in the early morning hours and early afternoon hours. Sick visits will be seen in the late morning and late afternoon.

Your physician’s office will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. For the time being, nursing staff will continue to call ahead to ask about possible symptoms and coronavirus exposure.

We ask that you assist us in limiting unnecessary traffic throughout our building.  Please do not bring additional adults or siblings to appointments, only 1 attendant per patient is necessary. We also require that everyone over the age of 2 within our facility wear a facemask or other cloth face covering.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are confident this is the best course of action to maintain the health and well-being of our patients.

Reporting of COVID 19 Cases

We understand that as a healthcare facility we will likely continue to have cases or suspected cases of COVID-19 within our facility.  In order to protect the privacy of our patients, providers, and staff, as well, as minimize any unnecessary panic, we will not release details on positive or suspected cases publicly or throughout this organization.  Rest assured, we are closely following the guidelines set forth by the Department of Health with regard to notifying and monitoring close contacts of positive cases.

By this time, we are all well aware that this virus is within our community and appropriate precautions need to be taken when in contact with anyone whether they are symptomatic or not.   We will continue to screen patients and staff as they enter the building, practice universal precautions, and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.  All providers and staff have been provided with a surgical mask to be worn when close contact is necessary. N95 masks and PPE remain limited and will continue to be utilized when appropriate. Thank you for your continued cooperation as we navigate through this challenging and unique time.

COVID19 Preventive Measures at Slocum-Dickson Medical Group

The health and safety of our patients has always been our top priority and during this time of heightened precautions we are implementing several measures of protection for our patients and staff.

Entrances & Patient Screening

We are limiting entrance to the building to our Main Entrance and the Urgent Care Entrance only.  All other doors will be used only for exiting the building.  All patients and companions, regardless of their reason for visiting our facility, will be screened at these two entrances.  The screening procedure will be relatively quick, but we do ask that patients allow for some additional time to complete this process. Part of this screening will consist of temperatures being taken by thermal temperature cameras.  Please be aware that if a patient is exhibiting symptoms they may be asked to return to their vehicle and contact their doctor’s office or Urgent Care by phone.

Reducing Traffic in Our Facility

We ask that if patients need to be accompanied to their appointment that they limit companions to only one person (including children). Every person entering our building will need to go through the screening process.  Additionally, we are limiting traffic throughout our building by not allowing pharmaceutical representatives, food vendors, and any other non-essential vendors into our facility during this time.

Other Precautionary Measures

We will continue to be here for our patients and meet their healthcare needs.  In order to maintain the safest environment possible, we will continue to frequently disinfect highly touched surfaces, provide hand sanitizing stations for our patients, follow universal precautions for infectious disease prevention, as well as, screen all of our providers and staff prior to beginning their work day.  We require everyone within our facility to wear a mask or other cloth face covering.

Coronavirus Guidelines
